SAVE THE DATE: Winter Concert – December 14, 2023 from 1:30-3:00 in Knefely Gym

Congratulations to Ms. Gina Fugate and Ms. Serena Garcia! They have received $20,000 to expand the K12 robotics curriculum from the 2023-24 MSDE Robotics Grant. This grant was specifically written for students with visual impairments to expand their knowledge in STEM activities with direct, hands-on instruction to build Micro:Bit Rovers and participate in First LEGO League competitions. Participating teachers currently include: Technology Teachers Gina Fugate and Travis Lawrence; Content Teachers Hannah Rupert and Eric Lucero, as well as MSB Librarian Dorothy Hughes. The grant team hopes to continue to grow the program throughout the academic year with family events, teacher training, and conferences. 

MAKE48 Team Event

A team from The Maryland School for the Blind has been invited by the Kansas State School for the Blind to join them, and 5 other states’ Schools for the Blind -Texas, Arkansas, Indiana, New Mexico, Washington-  for MAKE48:2024
What is Make48?

We are seeking 3, blind and low vision students ages 13-17, from anywhere in the state of Maryland to join our team and travel to Kansas, expenses paid,  April 11-13 2024 to compete in this  ONE OF A KIND creative and innovative opportunity, which will be filmed as part of a documentary series airing on Roku’s  “This Old House Makers Channel”

Fall Grocery Gift Card Drive

Hello MSB! The weather is getting colder and the leaves are changing, that means Thanksgiving is right around the corner. It’s time for the Fall Grocery Gift Card food drive! These gift cards will help feed 30 families in need of support this Thanksgiving season.

Gift cards for $10, $20, or $50 to Giant, Target, Walmart, and Aldi can be dropped off to Newcomer 232.
