Hats off to the Grads

Congratulations to the 15 seniors from the MSB Class of 2021 who graduated on June 14, 2021!  After another challenging school year of hybrid instruction due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school was pleased to be able to hold an in-person ceremony this year.   In order to maintain proper social distancing protocols, guests were limited to immediate family members and staff who were involved in the ceremony.

It was a beautiful ceremony that included a very motivational commencement address by Tyler Merren, a Paralympian in the sport of Goalball.  Merren will be competing in the 2020 Paralympic games in Tokyo in July. He encouraged the students to not limit themselves or be afraid of trying new experiences, even if they are unfamiliar or may seem scary.

Class President Jefferson Palacios-Machado delivered the student address and led the turning of the tassels and senior, Shaniya Harcum, led the singing of the school song.

Seniors receiving special awards included:

Melika Azminia (Benjamin Newcomer Award)

Vaucour Jarmon, Jr. (Special Staff Commendation Award)

Shawn Ransom (Alumni Award)

MSB is very proud of our graduates and wish them success as they move on from our Hive!
