What to Know

The Abacus Bee is back, and Maryland School for the Blind is teaming up with the Maryland Science Center to host it. It’s a math competition for students who are blind or have low vision in grades 2 through 12, from students just getting started to seasoned mathematicians, including a noncompetitive level for anyone newer to mental math. Learn more in APH’s Calculating Confidence article or on the official Abacus Bee page.

The Big Bee is Sunday, November 15, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, plus four regional testing pods around the state for families who can’t make the full day. Full details, dates, locations, and your testing options are all in the form below.

Ready to register? Registration opens September 1 and closes September 30, 2026.
