Statewide Programs & Services

MSB’s Statewide Outreach Services offer expertise and specialized skills to Maryland students, from birth to age 21, with visual impairment and additional disabilities, their families, and local school system staff through a variety of programs and services.

MSB’s Outreach staff consist of highly qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired, Orientation and Mobility Specialists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, highly trained paraeducators, a Certified Low Vision Specialist, a doctorate-level Psychologist, and a Parent Coordinator.

We have programs for:

  • Infant and Toddler services
  • Preschool through Age 21
  • Training programs for professionals and community partners

In partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education, MSB offers two additional statewide services.

  • Staff who provide these services work closely with MSB’s Outreach programs to promote student success and independence in their local school systems.
  • MIRC provides adapted instructional materials for visually impaired students.
